How to reduce rosacea

How to reduce rosacea: Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels on your face. It can be mistaken for acne, an allergic reaction or other skin problems. It can occur to anyone and at any age but most commonly affects middle-aged women who have fair skin. Rosacea causes redness on the face, swelling, and painful skin, stinging and burning in the skin, rough, itchy or scaling skin and acne-like breakouts and overly oily skin.
There is no cure for rosacea, treatments can control and reduce the signs and symptoms.

Diet

Make changes in your diet to avoid all allergies. Eat organic vegetables and fruits as they contain anti-inflammatory compounds, antioxidants to lower oxidative stress and sun damage, and vitamins and minerals that help rebuild healthy skin cells. Leafy green vegetables and orange/yellow fruits and vegetables are especially beneficial since they provide carotenoids that fight damage from sun exposure. Also eat fats like coconut oil, olive oil, nuts, and seeds etc. Ginger, garlic, onions, turmeric also help to combat skin inflammation. Do not take alcohol and caffeinated drinks. Also avoid sugar, dairy products, and processed food.

Medicines and antibiotics

Use prescription medicines and antibiotics.

Wear sunscreen

Always wear sunscreen, which helps prevent irritation from UV light, redness and flare-ups. UV light seems to aggravate rosacea symptoms and can cause inflammation. While getting exposure to the sun is important for vitamin D production within your skin, it’s best to keep your face well-protected. Choose the sunscreen carefully suiting your skin.

Take eye medications or drops when rosacea spreads to the eyelids.

Natural moisturizer and cosmetic products

Use natural moisturizers and cosmetic products. Naturally, antibacterial skin moisturizer like coconut oil can provide essential acids to the skin without causing breakouts or irritations. Buy organic makeup products as they limit the number of harsh chemicals you put on your sensitive skin.

Stress as a trigger for rosacea

Stress is known to be a common trigger of rosacea that can bring on flare-ups. You should be confident about your looks and not feel guilty.  Try to focus on feeling empowered instead of embarrassed. Use stress-reducing techniques like exercise and meditation to soothe yourself.
