What is Cannabinoid?

A cannabinoid is one of a class of diverse chemical compounds that acts on cannabinoid receptors in cells that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain.Cannabinoid receptors, located throughout the body, are part of the endocannabinoid system, which is involved in a variety of physiological processes including appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory.Cannabinoids are of three types –  endocannabinoids are those produced naturally in the body by animals, the phytocannabinoids are those which are found in cannabis and some other plants which are Echinacea purpurea, Echinacea Angustifolia, Acmella oleracea, Helichrysum umbraculiform, and Radula marginata, and synthetic cannabinoids are manufactured artificially.

113 different cannabinoids

The Cannabis-derived cannabinoids have at least 113 different cannabinoids, two of the majorly used cannabinoids are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol ( CBD).The different strains of these cannabis plants are used for mainly three reasons. One is for fiber production, the cannabis plants used for this are commonly called hemp.They are bred in such a way that they are low in psychoactive chemicals like THC. Second, strains are used in medicine.These are often bred for high CBD content.Third, strains are used for recreational purposes and are usually bred for high THC content.A CBD oil and THC oil, which is also called Hash oil are commonly used cannabinoid oil.

THC Oil

THC oil is produced by solvent extraction of marijuana or hashish.After filtering and evaporating the solvent, a sticky resinous dank liquid with a strong herbal odor remains.Hash oil is consumed usually by smoking, ingestion, or vaporization.Smoking or vaporizing hash oil is known colloquially as “dabbing”. Dabbing devices include special kinds of water pipes called oil rigs & vaporizers similar in design to electronic cigarettes.Oil rigs include a glass water pipe and a hollow tube, with an indentation on the side which is sometimes covered with a dome.The pipe is often heated with a blowtorch rather than a cigarette lighter.

Uses of oil

CBD oils are used mainly for medical purposes and pain management, and they do not give users any enjoyable benefits other than pain relief. One of the benefits of CBD oil is its ability to completely replace certain pain medication, such as opioids. CBD causes reduced anxiety, reduced inflammation, and reduced psychoactive symptoms.
CBD is extracted from the plant as a mineral-rich oil.It has been a proven treatment for a range of cancers and neurodegenerative diseases, while also being an effective anti-inflammatory.CBD influences the release and uptake of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin, leading to many potential therapeutic uses.
Apart from it being used in its pure oil form which is the very effective, most people are using it as a morning CBD oil capsule.Some of the most popular hemp CBD oil products are in liquid form, made by diluting the pure hemp CBD oil into an alcohol or other natural oil bases.
CBD oil topicals like soothing salves and balms can be rubbed directly onto the skin for focused attention to trouble areas.There are ongoing trials for CBD as a treatment for everything from multiple sclerosis to Parkinson’s disease.

Side effects of CBD oil

CBD oil has few side effects.The most common side effect noted is tiredness. Some people have noticed diarrhea and changes in appetite or weight.It causes Inhibition of hepatic drug metabolism,  unpleasant dry sensation in the mouth, Increased tremor in Parkinson’s disease at high dose CBD, Low blood pressure, Lightheadedness, and Drowsiness.
Choosing a cannabinoid oil remains to a large extent a matter of purpose and intent.Having been available in variety there is user’s choice at disposal.
